Q: Who can attend UIT Training & Documentation classes?
A: UIT Training & Documentation primarily trains Central Administration employees. However, any Tufts University employee can attend on a space available basis.
Q: Does UIT offer an online training option?
A: UIT has a contract with ElementK, one of the premier online training companies in the market today. All Central Administration employees and any FSP employed by the university can receive a free ElementK account through the UIT Training and Documentation Department. Q: Will I still receive class reminders the day before I am scheduled for training?
A: Yes. Our system will automatically send you an e-mail noting the class name, date, time, and location the day before the scheduled class.
Q: How much notice should I give if I cannot attend a class?
A: Our new system automatically waitlists people who cannot get into a class that is full. It would be extremely helpful to these people if you could remove yourself from classes as soon as you know you will not be able to attend. That way, they have a chance to rearrange their schedules so that they can attend.
Q: What if I have a specific question that is not answered on the Web site?
A: Our staff is available to answer all of your questions. To contact the department by e-mail click the CONTACT US link on our Web page. To contact an individual instructor, click the ABOUT US link. All team members' telephone numbers are listed as are links to their e-mail accounts.
Q: There is a class that I am interested in taking that you are not offering this month. How do I know when it will be offered again?
A: We are always pleased to accommodate our customers in any way we can. If you are interested in taking a class that is not currently offered, click the "Suggest This Course Be Scheduled" button to notify us. You may also contact one of our instructors and we will attempt to put it on our next calendar. If you have a group of 5 or more people who are interested in a class, we would be happy to create a class just for you!
Q: What if I need technical training in an area that UIT Training & Documentation does not offer?
A: Our job is to respond to the needs of our customers. Please ask us about any technical training need you have. There is a good possibility that it may already be a class we are working on. If not, we will set up an appointment with you to determine what type of solution we can offer.
